"Redeeming" church

Okay....before you church-folk out there start freaking out or emailing me with a theological dissertation about my misuse of the salvific word "redeem", here's my understanding from Merriam-Webster Dictionary about an alternative use of the same word.

Redeem:  Definition 6a : (1) to offset the bad effect of or (2) to make worthwhile

For a church building that has set desolate and unused for over a year (the baptistery was even boarded up for goodness sake!), I think that the word "redeeming" is a great definition of what's taking place here at Cumberland Church.

Our team has done an AMAZING job these past few weeks renovating this place and working hard towards making our ministry environments look and feel "irresistible" to our guests.  If you get a chance, take a look at these "BEFORE" and "AFTER" shots.  Not too bad for a 7-month old church plant on a s-t-r-e-t-c-h-e-d budget, huh!?  I couldn't be prouder of our team.  GREAT work guys!

Looks great! I think Extreme Makeover: Home Edition could get some tips from you guys!

Eddie,

Wow, man what you guys are doing looks awesome! I wish that sort of thing was possible here. We are continuing to pray for God's blessing in what you guys are doing.

WOW! That place looks awesome now. I can't believe how much you guys did. WOW!

The changes you guys have made to the new building look awesome! I can't wait until my first service there.

"Looking good Mr. Kotter."

I'm guilty. You could've put me in the list of folks saying "uh, are you sure about this?". But man, what a difference! Goodbye "W". The only problem now is that the place needs to be twice as big if last Sunday is any indication. We need some additional volunteers quick so we can go to two services.
