Friday Five - 5 ministry ideas that could change the future

200293478001_2 Okay, mark it down.  You heard it here first. (smile)  Here's 5 ideas that could revolutionize ministry as we know it but ones that I will never see one commission check off of.  That ain't right!  Oh well, all for the kingdom, right!?

Well, here's my Friday Five as I'm dreaming and lookin' out to the future.  Imagine if you will...

1. A TRUE "user-friendly" bible for people new to the Bible -  Okay, this one is more pragmatic than the futuristic tone of the rest...but bare with me for a second.  For most new Christians I know or people who've never owned a bible, they don't know where to find Philemon, Haggai or 3 John.  Why make them feel stupid at your church or bible study?  Why doesn't Thomas-Nelson, Zondervan or Lifeway make a true, user-friendly bible?  I think the PERFECT starter study bible would be one that puts the individual books (Genesis, Exodus, etc..) in alphabetical order.  Makes perfect sense to me.  Think about it.  The books of the bible are inspired but the order of them isn't.  I think we forget that sometimes.

2. A Video Church campus or church plant at an IMAX Theater - If you went to a recent showing of U2's or Hannah Montana's 3-D concert movie, you know the power of this experience.  It would be POWERFUL!

3. Your Teaching Pastor as a hologram
-  With the expansion and success of "video church campuses" all throughout the US, this seems to be the next logical step and transformation.  Imagine Andy Stanley teaching life-size right in front of you as a hologram.  Don't think the technology is there yet?  Think again.  I promise you, it will be coming soon.  Check this out.  It's just a matter of time and money.

4. Bible Teaching as "experiential" and "on location". Imagine watching your pastor teach the passage in Acts 17, where the Apostle Paul is teaching at the Areopagus (Mars Hill) in Athens.  Now imagine him actually taking you (the audience) with him there to the very place where it happened with holographic video imaging as the backdrop.  Imagine actually BEING there in Athens.  Imagine your pastor standing in the place where Paul preached and reading that passage to you as you take in the whole atmosphere.  How powerful would that be!  I believe it won't be long before somewhere, some church will be teaching like this.  (hopefully mine!)

5. A Hollywood produced, highest of the high-quality, professionally acted, on-location, 3-D, HD/Blue-Ray, DVD Bible
-  That's a mouthful isn't it!?  But think about the possibilities.  If points #2, #3 and #4 ever happen... then this a done deal.  Imagine the power of sitting with your small group in front of your HD TV and "experiencing" the Bible as you read and learn together.  How powerful would that be?

Thanks for letting me share!  Just lookin' forward together with you towards the future.  I hope we never stop dreaming of all the possibilities and opportunities we have to make Christ known!

Have a great weekend everybody!

It's here: www.digitalillusionsllc.com

This will blow your mind. We're considering it for our church here in Cleveland, OH. It's a bit pricey but if you're looking for an authentic experience of someone looking like they are actually in the video venue, this is the way to go!

I'm hoping you all will be receiving information soon regarding this. This company is the only American distributor/reseller of the Musion Eyeliner system.

Thanks Josh! Looking forward to having you in and experiencing worship with you this Sunday bro. Safe travels!

man, now you've got me dreaming! looking forward to being with you all sunday...
